Day 17!!!

Today, to make a difference, I got up early in the morning to help my mum make pendants. I did this for 4 hrs. I also called Heather and did a favour for both her and my mum and came up with a science fair I idea as we needed to get started and my mum had been begging me to do it for ages. I then helped my dad with the shopping and went to visit my grandma to give her some company. Then when I arrived home, I made some treats to bring to school for tomorrow (lemon muffins and meringues). I then helped my mum make a roast dinner, and then for the reat of the evening, I helped clean the dishes and make new stock for my mum.

I know that everyone has appreciated my hard work over the last 17 days, and I have certainly enjoyed it. I have received many smiles, 'thank you's, hugs and more. These have also made me smile everytime I did something nice for someone.

I am now EXTREMELY happy to say that I have made a difference in my community in 17 days!!!!! I think that because of what I have done lately, I might incorporate some of this experience into everyday life, e.g. I might bring muffins to school for everyone, help out around the house more often, etc. I really enjoyed this assignment and I would actually like to do the same in the future. Thanks Mr. Read for giving us such a fun and challenging task!!!

Day 16!!!

Almost finished 17 days to make a difference!!! Because of this I decided I put a lot of effort into this today and tomorrow so that I can just finish with a bang! I would have put in more effort today but I only got home from gym at 8.00. In class today there was a science model and I was asked to try it out. Even though I really didn't want to do it, I decided to be polite and not argue about trying it out. When I heard about why my brother was sad, I didn't make fun of him, unlike what I usually would have done and laughed at him. I also donated 10,000 grains of rice on freerice.com!!! It did take a long time but I know that it was worth it! I also volunteered to help my dad load the dishwasher and made my dad a cup of coffee. At the same time I also made my miserable brother a hot chocolate and volunteered to make my sister a lemon and honey drink as she has a really bad cough right now. When my dad came into the lounge, I was watching my favourite programme but I gave him the remote instead.

My brother was quite glad that I made him a hot chocolate and didn't talk about what he was sad about. My dad was happy that I made him a coffee and did so much for him this evening. I put a smile on my sister's face when I offerred to make her a cough syrup. When I tried out the science model today, it made others laugh so it made me feel happy.

Today was a very good day, and I tried very hard and in the end, I felt very proud to have made so many people happy.

Day 15!!!

Today I had to get up early to go to training - on a PUBLIC HOLIDAY!!! But even though I did have to get up REALLY early for 4 hours of training, I did manage to fit in some work on the pendants!!! Although I swear if I see another one of those pendants again that I'll die, I'm very proud of what I have done over the past 4 days, and I know that so is my mum. I also helped out today by making the mint sauce for the roast dinner. After dinner I made even more pendants with my mum! I felt really good for doing all these deeds, and so was everyone else afterwards.

Day 14!!!

Today I am feeling much better!!! YAY!!! Today was basically the same as yesterday as I made pendants for my mum and then went to gym to help out with the sausage sizzle and also in the kitchen. Helping out at the gymnastics competitions is always fun-when it's a rhythmic competition or an artistic one. Then when I had finished my training session, we stayed to support some of the younger gymnasts at our club. When I arrived home, I yet again helped my mum to make some more pendants.

My mum was happy that I helped her with the pendants because if I did not help her with this, then she would be working non-stop on this for weeks.

I felt very good to be doing so much work for my mum like this.
